The balloon got infected and swelled. Now she is in the hospital getting reading for surgery Saturday morning to have the balloon removed. After they remove it they will give her time to heal and for the infection to clear up then they will go back in and replace it with a new one. So life for this little one has been rough and the fact that her dad and his new girlfriend aren't her biggest fan makes thing even worse. So me being the crazy Auntie and annoying big sister has been spending every free moment i have had with her.I even stayed the night up there Wednesday night and she and i had a great adventure in the hospital.
This is Madison My niece she is six. She is a beautiful headstrong little girl who can be very stubborn at times. She loves to do art, dance and is my partner in crime on most days. She is however to most of the world damage materials imperfect. Why simply because she was born with this.
This is what the doctors refer to as a hairy mold and if not removed before age of 10 can turn into facial cancer. So we started the process of removing it at 6 months.A few weeks back she went in for the final stages of the removal process which included having a balloon implanted in her neck.
See that discolored area on her neck that's the balloon. It was suppose to stay there for twelve weeks being inflated a little each week till the skin was stretched. this was so when they removed the mold they could take that extra skin and do a skin graph and hopefully have very little scarring. Unfortunately what happen was this.

Some men do not know what they are missing out on when they chose not to be part of their childs life........
It is sad she has to deal with this I hope when it is removed she will be fine and have no more problems.......
She is lucky to have you in her life.
oh, dear one...I am lifting her up in my prayers.
Good thoughts and prayers to your lovely little niece. I hope she will be fine. Such a smile. A beauty to be sure.
Give her our hugs, please.
Thoughts and prayers for all of you. Most of all for your Niece to be okay, and for her father to open his heart and see the beauty that she truly is.
You're the bestest Auntie ever Becca. Bless you.
Huggs ♥ Love
Becca, little Madison is so blessed that you are there for her like that. She is lovely, and still smiling, even when that infection set in. She has obviously gone through a lot in her little life, and I will pray for her and hope that the next procedure will work, so that they can move on to the next stage. What a brave little girl. Hugs my friend.
So very sorry to hear about your niece's problem. I do pray that all will be well soon. May keep her in his special care, and you too.
Aww what a shame she has being going through all that! As for the father who is not interested, my children's father is just like that I am sad to say.
How can he not be her biggest fan? My ex told me that he didn't sign up for having a child with disabilities! I will never understand that kind of man :(
:(... I've got everything crossed that everything will go right. I can't imagine at all how it must be right now...
Aww that poor girl! Kids are very resilient though and she seems to be taking it all in her stride which is good :)
Awww poor baby! She looks like a strong kid! I hope and pray all goes well with the operation. You are a great Aunt! God bless you both!
Blessings, Joanne
It is always sad when children are sick but taking the necessary steps to keep her healthy in the long run is a good thing. The fact that her father isn't supportive, loving, or understanding is horrible. I don't understand anyone that can look at her smile and those beautiful eyes and not see the wonderful girl there. I will keep her, and you, in my thoughts and prayers.
@Jewels thank you sweetie
@Joanne thank you she came through like a trooper
@Hazels thank you she is a trooper
@Bubbles thank you
@Jo-Anne Ramblings thank you sweetie and it's true some men just don't get it
Sending healthy, positive, healing thoughts - along with much love - to that sweet girl.
Best;
