Answers:

1. What is your favorite holiday? I love all holidays but if I have to choose one it would be Christmas because I love seeing my son wake up to gifts under the tree.

2. Do you have any fun holiday traditions? What are they? Ever since i was a child or so my mom says we have always opened one gift on Christmas Eve

3. When do you start Christmas shopping? On a good year usually September and I'm done by first of November but for the past two years things have been kind of out of sorts and I haven't gotten started till mid November

4. What is your favorite holiday food? For me pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving which I get first piece of because my birthday usually falls so close that we pretend it' my birthday cake..hehe

5. Share a favorite childhood holiday memory
one of my favorite memories was my first Christmas in FL we had just moved into a rented house and my parents didn't have money to buy a tree so the people who lived there before left us their Christmas tree already decorated and all of our present came from a dollar store and were wrapped in brown paper bags. It was the best Christmas i remember and i still have my stuff puppy that my dad picked out for me. he is little tattered and torn but i keep him close as a reminded that Christmas doesn't have to be fancy and loaded with expensive gifts to be special.

Good Eats: Cole Slaw

Guess what I have for you..go on guess..give up well I'll tell you a quick, easy and delicious recipe for cole slaw. I know I'm awesome right OK well I know that most of you are really busy now that school is back in and summer is over but we still have to cook so here is one of my favorite recipes that has four ingredients and takes 15 minutes tops to make. You're really loving me now aren't you.

First your ingredients see just four.

1 16oz bag shredded cabbage

1 cup mayo (whatever is your favorite)

1/2 cup White Granulated sugar

1/4 cup white vinegar

Next put cabbage in a medium bowl and in another small bowl mix last three ingredients together like this.

Then pour dressing on cabbage and mix together till cabbage is completely covered with dressing and serve.

YUM!! right best part is it was quick and easy plus it can be paired with almost anything hot dogs, BBQ or just eaten plain out of the bowl that's how I like it.  bon appétit :)

My Happy List

 

First I am Happy because my niece is home and doing well. She is feeling much better and is enjoying all the attention we are giving her but then she does take after me..hehe

 

I am also happy because on Tuesday my Social Spark account hit it's first  $100.00 mark and boy could I use that Money. Oh and for those who have signed up but haven't received any leads be sure to check in daily with them and also check that your blog was verified.

 

I am Happy that when I came back to blog world I learned one of my favorite bloggers(Barb) had finally won her case for disability. This made me so happy if you haven't read her blog you are missing out on some of the best stories ever she is amazing. Click Here and go visit tell her I sent you and she may give you cookies.

I am also very happy because I have my color swap package ready to go and though I think it may perplex my swap partner I am very happy with what I chose It fits my personality of being different.

Quick Update

Little one came through surgery OK and is resting comfortable in her room. She is in some pain after the removal of the balloon but doctors look for full recovery. No date on when they will be going back in to replace the balloon but that can wait till little one has had time to heal.

This is Madison My niece she is six. She is a beautiful headstrong little girl who can be very stubborn at times. She loves to do art, dance and is my partner in crime on most days. She is however to most of the world damage materials imperfect. Why simply because she was born with this.

This is what the doctors refer to as a hairy mold and if not removed before age of 10 can turn into facial cancer. So we started the process of removing it at 6 months.A few weeks back she went in for the final stages of the removal process which included having a balloon implanted in her neck.

See that discolored area on her neck that's the balloon. It was suppose to stay there for twelve weeks being inflated a little each week till the skin was stretched. this was so when they removed the mold they could take that extra skin and do a skin graph and hopefully have very little scarring. Unfortunately what happen was this.



The balloon got infected and swelled. Now she is in the hospital getting reading for surgery Saturday morning to have the balloon removed. After they remove it they will give her time to heal and for the infection to clear up then they will go back in and replace it with a new one. So life for this little one has been rough and the fact that her dad and his new girlfriend aren't her biggest fan makes thing even worse. So me being the crazy Auntie and annoying big sister has been spending every free moment i have had with her.I even stayed the night up there Wednesday night and she and i had a great adventure in the hospital.

I'm not sure how long she is staying after surgery so not sure when I will be back to posting daily but I wanted you all to know what was happening. Plus i missed you and needed a place to vent so here I am. Hope everyone is having a great weekend. HUGS!!!

Just a short note to say things here took an unexpected turn and we have had a family medical emergency to deal with. As soon as things settle down I will be back hopefully I'll only be gone 2 or 3 days but i promise to return. Hugs to everyone and have a great weekend.
